Obituary for Helen M. Ingalls (Pratt)

CHELMSFORD – Helen M. (Pratt) Ingalls, 93, a longtime resident of Chelmsford died Sunday, June 10th following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick A. Ingalls.

She was born in Lexington on April 16, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Harris P. and Marie C. (Wilson) Pratt. She received her education in Reading schools and was a graduate of Reading High School.

Helen spent her life tending to the needs of her home and family and her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.

She dedicated much of her life to helping others. She was an active volunteer and contributor to the American Diabetes Association, the American Red Cross, and Death with Dignity.

Helen is survived by her two loving sons and daughters-in-law, David F. Ingalls and his wife Emily of Chelmsford and William H. Ingalls and his wife Kate Lawlor of Alameda, CA; four adoring grandchildren, Matthew D. Ingalls and his wife Jennifer Bishop Ingalls of Melrose, Katharine Ingalls Hart and her husband Daniel of Chelmsford, Benjamin Ingalls, and Alexander Ingalls, both of Alameda, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

It being her wish, there will be no visitation. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Helen’s name to Death with Dignity National Center, 520 SW 6th Ave., Suite 1220,
Portland, OR 97204 or deathwithdignity.org. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD.
