Obituary for
William R "Bill" Irish
CHELMSFORD- William R. Irish, 77, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died on August 28th, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Gail (Loveless) Irish to whom he was married for 57 years.
He was born in Boston on September 7, 1934 and was a son of the late Roland R. and Louise (Hertach) Irish.
Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Bill was an owner and sales representative for WRI Associates, and had previously been employed by Transitron in Wakefield. Bill enjoyed golfing in his free time.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three children, Dawn Mugford and her companion Bob Scalia of Methuen, Gaye Irish of N. Chelmsford, and Craig Irish and his wife Nicole of Estero, FL, four grandchildren; Stefanie Schleyer and Ryan Schleyer of Manchester, NH, Nichole Paquette and Michelle Paquette of North Chelmsford, and Taylor Irish of FL, and two great-grandsons; Travis and Zackary . He also leaves a brother, Roland Irish of NH and a sister Jane McNutt of AZ.
Visitation will take place on Saturday from 10 am to1 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford, concluding with a Funeral Service at 1 o’clock. Interment in Bourne National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
