Obituary for Thomas F O'Bram

CHELMSFORD – Thomas F. O’Bram, age 75, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died on Thursday, October 4th at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley.

He was born in Springfield, MA on August 1, 1937 and was the son of the late Thomas W. and Kathryn P. (Kot) O’Bram.

Thomas was a graduate of Enfield, CT High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. Prior to his retirement, Thomas was employed as a software engineer for Travelers Insurance, IBM, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and Nixdorf.

He was an active parishioner of St. Mary Parish, Chelmsford where he volunteered with their Soup Kitchen Ministry. Thomas enjoyed devoting his time to helping seniors. He was very involved at the Chelmsford Senior Center and delivered Meals on Wheels for over 15 years. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed listening to classical music.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ellen E. (O’Hurley) O’Bram, his daughters; Rebecca A. Riley and her husband Charles of Chelmsford, and Elizabeth L. Sweeney and her husband William of Lowell, and 4 grandchildren; Caitlyn and Brendan Riley and Isabel and Maryellen Sweeney.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
