Obituary for Florence Augusta Johnston (Johnson)
CHELMSFORD – FLORENCE AUGUSTA (JOHNSON) (ALLEN) JOHNSTON, 90, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away at her home on August 22, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence Allen Johnston.
Florence was born in Lowell on July 7, 1923 and was a daughter of the late Albert E. and Mary Ann (Shaw) Johnson.
In addition to her loving husband, Florence is survived by her son David Allen and his wife Linda of New Hampton, NH, two sisters; Elsie Gyer of Tewksbury and Gloria Williams of Lowell, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Elwood Allen and her son Wayne Allen, who was killed in Vietnam.
At her request funeral services will be private. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA & Hospice of Greater Lowell, 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852.
