Obituary for William H. Eaton

CHELMSFORD – William (Bill) H. Eaton, 85, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 with his loving family at his side at Northwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Lowell. He was the husband of Elsie Taylor-Eaton.

He was born in Glenwood, IA on December 26, 1928 and was a son of the late William B. and Ethel Mae (Davis) Eaton.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was an active member of the Central Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, a Trustee, a member of the choir, and also acted as a handyman for the church in his spare time. Bill worked for many years as a computer technician which led to becoming the co-founder of Yankee Technical Industries in North Chelmsford in 1977. After taking an early retirement, Bill devoted himself to caring for his loving wife of 40 years, Lois (Lyman) Eaton who died in 1997.

In addition to his wife Elsie, Bill is survived by his children Ron Eaton of Guilford, ME, Gerry Eaton of Arlington, and Kathy Glidden and her partner Jim Murphy of Chelmsford; two grandchildren Theresa Marshall and her husband Ryan of Somerset and Chris Glidden and his wife Melissa of Chelmsford; one great-grandson Ryan Christopher Marshall and soon-to-be great-granddaughter Alexis Marie Glidden, and sister Francis Skinner of AZ.

Bill is predeceased by his siblings Elma, Wilma, and Cliff. Bill’s family would like to extend their tremendous gratitude to all of the caring people at the Chelmsford Senior Center Adult Day Care Program and caring staff at Northwood Healthcare Center.

Visitation on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Service will be at 11 o’clock on Monday at the Central Baptist Church, 9 Academy St., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment will be private.
