Obituary for Frank J. Trabucco

Frank J. Trabucco, age 83, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Anne C. (Jones) Trabucco who died in 2007.

He was born in Marlboro on January 17, 1931, and was the son of the late Silvio and Marie (Massarelli) Trabucco. He received his education in Concord schools and was a graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School.

Frank served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Massachusetts State Police and held every rank up to and including Superintendent/Colonel, a position to which he was appointed by Governor King. He was then appointed by Governor Dukakis as Commissioner of Public Safety. Earlier in life he was postman for the United States Postal Service.

In his free time Frank enjoyed gardening, traveling, spending time in Ogunquit, Maine, and wintering in Florida.

He is survived by two daughters, Lee Dobbins and her husband Bruce of Bedford, NH and Lisa Trabucco of Nashua, NH; a granddaughter, Alexandria Pratt; two sisters, Josephine Pedato and Antoinette Collier and her husband Earl, all of Acton; a close family friend Daniel Turco of Andover; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Marie Wilson.

Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Sunday from 12 until 4 pm.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
