Jacquelyn J.  Underwood (Skop)
CHELMSFORD – Jacquelyn J. (Skop) Underwood, age 82, a longtime resident of Chelmsford and Chatham and former resident of Ashland Farms, North Andover died Friday, February 20, 2015 at The Atrium at Drum Hill in Chelmsford. She was the wife of the late William E. Underwood.

She was born in Lawrence on April 10, 1932, and was the daughter of the late William and Stasia (Marzec) Skop. She received her education in Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned an associate’s degree from Fisher College in Boston.

Jacquelyn spent her life tending to the needs of her home and family.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford.

Jacquelyn enjoyed summering in Chatham, traveling to the islands, cooking, exercising, and playing the piano. She also had a great sense of style and enjoyed shopping and interior decorating.

She is survived by her son, William E. Underwood, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Little Falls, NJ; two daughters, Carol Underwood and her husband Brian Willia of Phoenix, AZ and Susan Strauss and her husband Ronald of Tyngsboro; six grandchildren, Kathryn Strauss of Brooklyn, NY, Jeffrey Strauss of San Mateo, CA, Max Mooney of Chandler, AZ, and Jack, Connor and William Underwood, of Little Falls, NJ; her sister-in-law, Joan Underwood of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Michael Underwood.

Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Tuesday from 5 until 8 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jacquelyn’s memory to The Joseph Middlemiss Big Heart Foundation, Inc., PO Box 428, Dracut, MA 01826 or at jmbigheart.org.
