Obituary for George H. Naumann

CHELMSFORD- George H. Naumann, age 79, passed away on July 25, 2015, after a long illness. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Naumann was born in Greenwich, CT, the son of Paul and Margaret (Gault) Naumann. He grew up in Greenwich and attended Greenwich public schools.
He graduated from Northeastern University and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea as part of Army Ordnance. After his return from Korea he was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Mr. Naumann began his career in Production Control at AMF, Titan Missile Division in Stamford, CT. He later moved to Massachusetts where he worked at Sylvania, in Needham, MA and ultimately joined Computervision Corp, a leading supplier of CAD/CAM systems, in Bedford, MA. Here he was VP of Materials and Distribution responsible for Procurement, Inventory Management, Traffic and distribution of all products globally. After leaving Computervision in 1988 he was Sr. VP of Operations at Corporation for Laser Optics Research before he retired.

Mr. Naumann resided in Chelmsford, MA for 47 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Janis (Dolan) Naumann and his son Scott P. Naumann of Townsend, MA and two grandchildren, Paul Naumann and Timothy Naumann of Townsend, MA, a sister, Barbara (Naumann) Gregoire of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 4PM to 8PM at BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. His Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 9AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Stephen and Catherine Pappas Neuro-Oncology Fund at Mass General Hospital Cancer Center, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA.
