Obituary for William "Bill" S. Ellis

William "Bill" S.  Ellis
CHELMSFORD – William S. “Bill” Ellis, age 69, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Linda A. (Poole) Ellis, to whom he was married for 50 years.

He was born in Everett on March 12, 1946, and was the son of the late Donald A. and Muriel (Case) Ellis.

He was a graduate of Revere High School and attended Middlesex Community College.

Bill was employed for 45 years by TRW Automotive. He later drove a school bus at Greater Lowell Technical High School for NRT Bus Company.

His greatest joy in life was spending time in the company of his family and friends. He enjoyed life and loved to laugh. He was also an avid football fan, especially the New England Patriots.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his daughter, Robin Mendonca and her fiancé Richard Demange of Lowell; two grandchildren, Jared Mendonca and Nichole Mendonca, both of Lowell; a great granddaughter, Rhea Mendonca-Young; a brother, John Ellis of Newburyport; a sister, Donna Ferrante of Newburyport; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford, on Thursday from 4 until 7 pm.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:30 am at the Central Congregation Church, UCC, One Worthen St., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment will be private.

The Ellis family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Lahey Oncology Dept for the heartfelt care and compassion they provided.
