Obituary for Gerald C. "Gerry" Andrews

Gerald C. "Gerry" Andrews

He was born in Lowell on December 22, 1925, and was a son of the late Harold W. and Ella Mae (Fitzner) Andrews. He received his education in Lowell schools.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 25 years as a graphics illustrator at Hanscom Air Force Base.

In his free time, Jerry enjoyed playing golf, snow skiing, spending time with his friends at the Tadmuck Road Senior Housing in Westford (or as he affectionally called it – wrinkle village), and joking around with people by drawing amusing cartoons of them. He also loved spending time with his dog, fuzzy and his grand dogs, Chito, Bubba, and Teddy.

He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Carol and William Chestnut of Chelmsford; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Linda Andrews of Port St. Lucie, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen “Lolly” and Robert Lavache of Dennis; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Harold Andrews and Marilyn Byrne.

Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 6 until 8 pm followed by his Funeral Service at 8 pm at the funeral home. Private interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jerry’s name to the Center for Leukemia at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, C/O Development Office, 125 Nashua St, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
