Laura Louise Aligada, 86 passed away peacefully at Blaire House of Tewksbury on November 25, 2015 following a brief hospitalization.

She was born and raised in Lowell ,MA and throughout her life had resided in the cities of Lowell, Chelmsford, Boston, Washington, D.C, Fall River and as well in the states of Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey.

She received her RN degree from Saint Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, her BSN degree from Boston College and her MSN from Catholic University.

She worked as an RN at Boston City Hospital, Freeman’s Hospital Washington, D.C., and Denver Colorado Army Hospital. She taught surgical nursing at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Lowell and Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.

She enlisted in the US Army Nurse Corps as a registered nurse during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Tokyo, Japan and was honorably discharged as a full Lieutenant.

She married Dr. Reynaldo Aligada of Manila, Philippines in 1960 and had three children, Rosalyn Aligada of Newburyport, MA, Carolyn Aligada of Glendale, AZ and Arthur Aligada of Haverhill, MA.

She was a woman of strong faith who was very devoted to her parish of Saint Mary’s church of Chelmsford having served as a Eucharistic minister and a religious education instructor for many years. She was very fond of learning about the cultures of the world and was fortunate to have traveled to Russia, France, Japan and Italy.

She loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours taking photos of her travels, downhill skiing and hiking as a young woman and in her later years took up golfing in both MA and NH as a league player and quilting which she enjoyed as a club member.

She is survived by her three children who will dearly miss her boundless energy, her love of life and her generosity.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass that will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Mary Church, 25 North Road, Chelmsford.

Interment will be private.
