Obituary for
Thelma A. Heathcock
After a period of declining health, Thelma A. (Noon) Heathcock, age 87, died peacefully with dignity and grace on December 3, 2015, at Wingate at Belvidere, with her husband of almost 65 years, Donald A. Heathcock, by her side.
Thelma was born in Lowell on May 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Rose G. (Dowd) Noon. She was raised in Chelmsford, graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1945, and was a graduate of the Winslow Secretarial School of Boston. She made her home in Lowell after marrying, and with her husband, raised a son, D. Gary Heathcock, also of Lowell.
Upon her husband’s retirement over 25 years ago, Thelma enjoyed traveling with him around the U.S. in their motor home. They visited every state except Hawaii. In her later years, she enjoyed eating out with her husband and also found great enjoyment sitting in her yard.
In addition to her husband and son, Thelma is survived by her daughter-in-law, Robin K. (Mayall) Heathcock, of Lowell. She was predeceased by her only grandchild, Matthew T. Heathcock of Lowell, who passed away on January 24, 2015. She was also predeceased by her only sibling, Barbara E. Hayes of Lowell, who passed away on May 7, 2015.
