Obituary for Donald F. Stinnett

CHELMSFORD – Donald F. Stinnett, age 83, a longtime resident of Chelmsford died Sunday, January 10, 2015 at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of Anne R. (Jones) Stinnett, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 11th.

He was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas on January 19, 1932, and was the son of the late Ruel and Sarah E. “Sadie” (Minor) Stinnett. He was a graduate of Tulsa High School and earned a bachelor degree in physics from the University of Tulsa.

Donald served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as an applications engineer in the electronics industry. Earlier in his career he was employed by North American Aviation and later with The Raytheon Company.

In his free time, Donald enjoyed working around the house and researching his family’s genealogy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons, David Stinnett and his wife Lori of Chelmsford, MA, Jeffrey Stinnett of Nashua, NH, and Mark Stinnett of Lawrence, MA; two grandsons, Kristofer Fontes and George Stinnett; and nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Blanche Lynch and Thelma Stinnett.

Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Thursday from 5 until 7 pm followed by his Funeral Service at 7 pm at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
