Dennis J  Vargeletis
Dennis J. Vargeletis, 81, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Friday April 7, 2017 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Thelma L. (Weeks) with whom he shared a beautiful 60 year marriage.

Born in Cambridge on July 24, 1935, he was the youngest of 10 children born to George and Frances (Wontroba) Vargeletis.

Dennis was a firefighter for the Town of Chelmsford for 28 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a proud member of the Elks and the National Horseshoe Player Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 4 children, Dennis J. Vargeletis, Jr. and his wife Fay of Dracut, Richard J. Vargeletis and his wife Katie of Ashby, Patricia F. (Vargeletis) Ramos and her husband, Charlie of Columbia, MD, Thomas R. Vargeletis and his wife, Vivian of Ashburnham; his 8 grandchildren Thomas Vargeletis, Jr., Joseph Vargeletis and his wife Kaylee, Emily (Vargeletis) Kulik and her husband Ryan, James Vargeletis, Christina Vargeletis, Brendan Vargeletis, Rachel Vargeletis and Ian Vargeletis; in laws and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Lucille, Esther, Virginia, Ann, Honey, Christine, Peggy, Harry, and Paul.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 10, 2017 from 5 until 8 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11 AM in St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, CHELMSFORD. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, NORTH CHELMSFORD. The family would also like to share their gratitude for the exceptional loving care that Dennis received at Sunny Acres Nursing Care facility. All the exceptional staff made his stay as close to home as possible and became an extended family.
