Obituary for Diana L. O'Brien (Gaskill)
Diana L. (Gaskill) O’Brien, a longtime resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, died peacefully on Saturday February 27, 2016 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Norris F. O’Brien.
Born in Nebraska City, Nebraska on August 14, 1945, she was the only daughter born to the late Carl O. and Anna (Sedoris) Gaskill.
Diana was educated in Nebraska schools. She later moved to Massachusetts with her husband and was employed for more than 25 years by Silicon Transistor Corporation. She then went on to work at Microsemi in Lawrence until her retirement in 2012.
Diana is survived by her daughter, Erin M. O’Brien of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Louis Gaskill and his wife, Annette of Nebraska City, NE; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Neal and Kathleen O’Brien of Sandwich, MA, and Wayne and Linda O’Brien of Liberty Township, OH. She was the loving aunt of Lindsey Flynn, Lannan O’Brien and Robert O’Brien and grand aunt to Kellan O’Brien Flynn.
Diana was surrounded by many dear friends in her lifetime including Sonia del Llano, Ed Fonseca, and Cheav and Khanya Chhoy, who all extended her many acts of kindness. In her loving memory, please do the same for others.
Relatives and friends may call at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Thursday March 3, 2016 from 11 AM until 1 PM. A procession to St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford will follow with a committal service at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diana’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
