Obituary for Suzanne T Schmidt
Suzanne T. (Thrasher) Schmidt, 81, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington. She was the beloved wife of James R. Schmidt who survives her and resides in Chelmsford.
She was born in Rome, NY on May 20, 1934 and was a daughter of the late Vernon A. and P. Arlinda (Ingalls) Thrasher.
Suzanne grew up in Lee Center, NY and was a graduate of the Utica School of Commerce. She was employed for many years at the Olney and Floyd Canning Factory in Lee Center. Suzanne had been a member of the Lee Center United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Chelmsford. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Curriculum Associates in Billerica. She enjoyed knitting, swimming, bowling, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Suzanne is survived by their children; Mark Schmidt and his wife Lisa of Florida, and Tara Boettcher and her husband Peter of Chelmsford, and two grandchildren; Anastasia and Nicolas Schmidt.
At the request of her family calling hours have been omitted.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10am on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Rd., Chelmsford.
Interment and graveside service will be held on Saturday April 2, 2016 at 10:30 AM in Evergreen Cemetery, Rt. 26, Town of Lee, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or the Salvation Army, 150 Appleton St., Lowell, MA 01852 or to the Lee Center United Methodist Church, PO Box 142, 5533 Main St., Lee Center, NY 13363
