CHELMSFORD – Barbara A. (Green) Noyes, 85, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, formerly of Falmouth, Maine, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at D’Youville Senior Care. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard C. Noyes who died in 1981.

Barbara was born in Portland, ME on August 14, 1930 and was a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Gertrude M. (Fitzsimmons) Green.

She was raised in Maine and was a graduate of Deering High School in Portland, ME, class of 1948. Prior to her retirement, Barbara was employed as a secretary for the Chelmsford School Dept. for 32 and half years. She was a parishioner of St. Irene in Carlisle. Barbara was an active member of the community who generously gave of her time and talent to many organizations. She was a member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks #2310, the Littleton/Westford Emblem Club #244, and the St. Irene Parish Women’s Club. She was a former member of the Chelmsford Country Club and a volunteer for Chelmsford Rotary Club Blood Drives and at the Bedford VA. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, line dancing and knitting.

Barbara is survived by three sons and their wives; John and Virginia Noyes of the Villages, FL, Stephen and Susan Noyes of Marshfield, and Thomas and Jane Noyes of Chelmsford. She also leaves six grandchildren; Matthew Noyes & his wife Kimberly, Jaclyn Benson and her husband Michael, Katelyn Noyes, Ryan Noyes, Jessica Noyes and Michael Noyes; two great-granchildren, Reese C. Noyes and Marley J. Noyes, and her brother John F. Green and his wife Janet of Enfield, CT. She was the sister of the late Mary G. Boulet and Joseph F. Green.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock on Saturday at St. Irene Parish, 181 East St., Carlisle. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
