Phillip R. Russell, 48, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Union Hospital in Lynn after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Lowell on February 3, 1968 and was a son of Richard J. Russell of Chelmsford and the late Carol J. (Costa) Russell who died in 2013.

Phillip earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Westfield State and was the owner of Fine Landscapes located in Chelmsford. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, and good music.

In addition to his father, Phillip is survived by two brothers Stephen R. Russell and his wife Rosa of Providence, RI and Gregory R. Russell and his wife Karen of Litchfield, NH, and two nephews Richard G. Russell and Zachary S. Russell. He also leaves his uncle Kenneth Costa and his wife Melody of Dracut and cousins Neil Costa, Michael Costa and Joseph Costa.

It being his request, calling hours have been omitted and funeral services were held privately.

Interment was held in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
