Obituary for
Neil J Fitzpatrick
CHELMSFORD – Neil J. Fitzpatrick, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, died on Sunday, July 16, 2016 at age 95.
He was born on May 1, 1921 and was the son of the late Richard and Nora (Scanlan) Fitzpatrick.
He attended Chelmsford Schools and graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1941. During World War II, he served in the United States Marine Corps in the South Pacific and was stationed on Guam before being honorably discharged in 1946.
He was employed at the Bedford VA Hospital until his retirement.
Neil is survived by two sisters, Louise (Fitzpatrick) Pigeon and Norma (Fitzpatrick) Schults and her husband Joseph. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was the brother of the late George Fitzpatrick, Mary Hogan and Ruth Witts.
At the request of the family, funeral services were held privately with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
