Mary E. "Betty"  Dudley (Ward)
CHELMSFORD- Mary E. "Betty" (Ward) Dudley, 89, recently of Chelmsford and former lifelong resident of North Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 14, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward L. "Eddie" Dudley, Jr. of 59 years prior to his death in 2010.

She was born in Cambridge, MA on July 5, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Leo P. and Helen J. (Hickey) Ward.

Prior to her retirement, Betty was employed by New England Telephone/Nynex as an office statistician. She was a devout communicant of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelmsford and St. Anthony Catholic Church in East Falmouth. In retirement, she and Ed moved to Falmouth, MA and wintered in Naples, FL before moving to Chelmsford a few years ago.

Betty embraced life and touched many family and friends with her charm, wit and friendship. She will be missed by all.

She leaves her loving children, Roberta Murray and her husband Robert of Nashua, NH, Ellen Cassidy of Lowell, Maureen Slomba and her husband Mark of Groveland, MA, Sheila Demers and her husband John of Chelmsford, and Edward L. "Ted" Dudley III and his wife Sarah of Nashua, NH. She cherished her eight grandchildren, Brian, Matt and Kevin Murray, Danielle Fleckenstein, Sean Demers, and Leah Callahan, Ed and Rebecca Dudley, and her great-grandchildren; Kendell and Ethan Murray, Skylur and Jaden Demers, Lucy and Peter Fleckenstein, and Mason and Kasey Callahan. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Helen Donovan of Falmouth. Betty was the sister of the late Leo and John Ward.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 18th from 4 to 8 PM at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 19th at 9 AM at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford.

Interment in North Cambridge Catholic Cemetery, 244 Rindge Avenue, N. Cambridge, MA.
