Obituary for Karen Gutwein Laporte
Karen Gutwein Laporte, 51, of Cudjoe Key, FL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
Karen was truly loved by those who knew her. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and loyal friend to many. She will be greatly missed. Karen grew up in Chelmsford, MA where she graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1983. She lived and worked in numerous resort communities, including Martha’s Vineyard, MA, Newport, RI and Key West, FL. Recently she bought a house in Cudjoe Key, FL where she lived with her longtime boyfriend Mark Lum and her faithful dog Cruzan.
She is survived by her mother, Joan B. Gutwein, formerly of Chelmsford, MA and preceded in death by her father, Joseph M. Gutwein. She is also survived by her brother, Scott C. Gutwein and his wife Colleen Q. Gutwein and their three sons, Michael, Joseph and Anthony Gutwein as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service held in the community where she lived on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 5-11pm. The address is Venture Out @ Cudjoe Kay, 701 Spanish Main Dr., Cudjoe Key, FL 33042. There will be a second Celebration of Life Memorial Service held in Chelmsford, MA on Sunday, November 6 from 5-7pm. That will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford, MA 01824.
The family would like to thank everyone who knew her for the outpouring of love during this tough time.
