Life Story for Claire M. Bukowiec (Dionne)

WESTFORD-Claire M. (Dionne) Bukowiec, 85, a longtime Dracut resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Bridges by EPOCH at Westford on Saturday, November 12, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley L. Bukowiec.

Born in Lowell on January 28, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Beatrice (Lajeunesse) Dionne.

Stanley founded Massachusetts Opticians, Inc. of Lowell and Chelmsford in 1970, where Claire worked alongside him for many years. Prior to working with her husband, she worked in the superintendent's office at Dracut High School.

In addition to being a former member of the Dracut Knights of Columbus Woman's Auxillary, Claire was an avid golfer and tennis player. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with friends and family at Big Island Pond in Hampstead, NH.

She is survived by her loving children; Carol Scott of Holliston, Stanley Bukowiec and his wife Gwenn of Tyngsboro, June Stott and her husband Mark of Chelmsford, and Paul Bukowiec and his wife Kimberly of York Beach, ME. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Wednesday from 9 until 11AM.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 o'clock at the Immaculate Conception Church, 3 Fayette St. Lowell.

Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
