Obituary for Paul Koval
LOWELL - Paul Koval, 87, of Lowell and formerly of Daytona Beach, FL and Wollaston, MA, died Thursday, November 17th at Lowell General Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston on November 24, 1928 and was the son of the late Lew and Dorothy (Semyczuk) Koval. Paul was the devoted husband of the late Jeannette (Dubina) Koval.
He resided in Arlington, MA before entering the service in 1948. After his honorable discharge he attended Bryant & Stratton Business School receiving high honors. He then worked at Nynex, formerly the New England Telephone Company until his retirement in 1987. After his retirement party, he traveled extensively with his wife on their sailboat "Breezing Up".
Paul is survived by his niece Georgia and her husband Peter Doherty of Billerica and their children; Kelly of Winchester and Peter Richard of Boston. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Nancy MacLauchlan of Chelmsford. Paul was a special uncle to Jean and Jamie, Harry and Kathy, Bonnie and Howie, and Scott and Brenda and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Tanya and her husband Al Boniewitz.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to M.I.T. Haystack Observatory, 99 Millstone Rd., Westford, MA 01886.
