Robert James Giampa, Sr., 84, of Chelmsford, formerly a Somerville resident, passed peacefully early Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Cambridge, November 28, 1931 to Marco and Mary (Comeiro) Giampa. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Cecile Marie (Audet) Giampa.

For many years, Robert owned a successful canteen truck operation. Most recently has was employed by Belmont Public Schools. Bob enjoyed playing golf. He was grateful for his family and proud to be able to watch his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his children, Robert Giampa and wife, Deborah of Nevada, Phillip Giampa and wife, Madeline of Wakefield, Marco Giampa and wife, Gail of Cambridge, Patricia (Giampa) Forristall and husband, Richard of Arizona, Stephen Giampa and wife, Joann of Chelmsford and Maria (Giampa) Franklin and husband, Rees of Chelmsford; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; his siblings, Palma Paola, Silvio Giampa, Rose Vela and Marco Giampa. He was the brother of the late Connie LaSpina, Laura Senn and Theresa Whalen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 1, 2016 from 4 until 8 PM in the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Interment services will be held privately.
