BOCA RATON, FLORIDA - John R. Mantville, 72, recently of Florida and former resident of Westford since 1967, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 in Boca Raton, FL. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Drinkwater) Mantville with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 3 2017.

He was born in Boston on January 17, 1944 and was a son of the late William J. and Concetta (Venuti) Mantville. He was raised in South Boston and Dorchester.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served with the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment during the Vietnam War. For many years he was the owner and proprietor of J & B Seafoods in Westford and Seafood Connections in Chelmsford. John was the Director of the Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps from 1976 until 1984. He was also a member of the Chelmsford Elks Club Lodge #2310 and a longtime parishioner of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Westford. He enjoyed golfing in his spare time. Most importantly, John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He always enjoyed watching them participate in sports, specifically baseball and lacrosse.

In addition to his loving wife, John is survived by his sons, William Mantville and his wife Deborah of Westford and Stephen Mantville and his wife Amanda of Los Angeles, CA, and his cherished grandchildren; Will and Jack Mantville and Sophia, Ella and Oscar Mantville. He also leaves his sisters Deborah Kern and her husband Daniel of Haverhill and Patricia Perry and her husband Steve of FL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, 107 N. Main St., Westford, MA.

Interment to follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
