Larry  Knott
Larry G. Knott, a resident of Nashua, NH, formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6th at his home with his family by his side. He was eighty eight years of age. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Fiorenza) Knott to whom he was married for forty-nine years.

Larry was born in Staunton, Virginia, the son of Forrest and Willie Mae (Sheets) Knott. He was raised in Virginia and after completing his schooling enlisted in the United States Navy. He served honorably in the Korean War and was proud to serve his country. In 1967, Larry married his adored wife Jean; they would have celebrated fifty years of marriage this November. In 1969, they moved to Chelmsford and then to Lowell in 1974 where they would raise their family.

Prior to his retirement, Larry was self-employed as a Formica contractor and his children took a great deal of pride in having Larry's craftsmanship in their own homes. In his free time, Larry enjoyed time spent bowling, traveling to family events and was a true Boston sports fan He and his wife spent their winter months in St. Petersberg, FL where their door was always open to welcome visitors. Larry had a willingness to build and repair anything and everything and was often recruited by his grandchildren to assume his role of "Mr. Fix-it". While he was always there to lend a hand, Larry was most at home in his role as Dad and "Papa". He cherished the time he spent with his family and never missed one of his grandchildren's games or events. A true family man, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his wife of almost fifty years, Jean (Fiorenza) Knott, his three daughters, Melinda Polleck and her husband Steven of Chelmsford, Melissa Wong and her husband Don Jr. of Hudson, NH and Brenda Lizine and her husband Robert of Chelmsford. he was the cherished "Papa" of Gabrielle, Tia, Trevor, Chad, Trista, Adam and Mitchell. Larry is survived by his brother, Donald Knott of Virginia, as well as his in-laws, Annette McClure and her late husband Robert of Chelmsford, Sally Sweeney and her husband Paul of Chelmsford and Tina Fiorenza and her late husband Robert of Florida. Larry also leaves many nieces, nephews and close friends.


Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4-8 at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street CHELMSFORD. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Road Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be private.
