Obituary for Carl C. Rizzo Jr.

Carl C. Rizzo, Jr., a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (Dwyer) Rizzo.

Born in Revere on December 22, 1924 at his family home, he was a son of the late Carl C. Rizzo Sr. and Florence (McWilliams) Rizzo.

Carl served our country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. After his honorable discharge in 1945, He worked at the Charlestown Naval Base then began his career in the Computer Technology Industry- primarily in Government services. He continued as a computer technician for 35 years working for the FAA.

Carl is survived by his children, Karen A. Rizzo and her boyfriend John Curseaden of Lincoln, MA, David L. Rizzo of Chelmsford, Thomas D. Rizzo and his wife, Deborah of New Ipswich, NH; and a sister, Marguerite Rizzo of Revere. He was the beloved "Papa" to Stephanie and Jose DeJesus, Stephen and Abigail Sousa, Carl and Jennifer Rizzo, Christopher and Emily Rizzo, Catlyn and Stephen Stille. He was “Great Papa” to Devin, Skyler, Will, Conner, Margaret, Mackenzie, Zachary, Stetson, Monty and Delain. He was the brother of the late Robert and Sabino Rizzo. And uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday Jan. 19, 2017 in the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will then take place at 1:15 PM in Massachusetts National Veteran Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA.
