John S. "Jack"  Fudge Jr.
NASHUA- John S. "Jack" Fudge, Jr., 85, a resident of Nashua, NH and Delray Beach, FL and a former longtime resident of Chelmsford, MA, died unexpectedly on January 18, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH following a sudden illness. He was the loving husband to Margaret A. (Shaughnessey) Fudge of Nashua, NH who survives him.

Born in Somerville, MA on December 18, 1931, he was a son of the late John S. Fudge, Sr. and Belle A. (Petit)(Fudge) Barker.

He graduated from Winchester High School Class of 1949. Jack went on to enlist in the United States Navy in 1952 until he was honorably discharged.

He was employed by New England Electric from 1954 until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed 62 years of marriage with the love of his life, Peg. After his retirement they became snowbirds and enjoyed 15 years in Delray Beach Florida and created wonderful life long friendships there.

Jack was a lover of the rocky coast of Maine and he enjoyed spending summers in Ogunquit with his family and friends. His love for that area was where many memories were made with his family...from the lobster dinners and rum punches at Barnacle Billy's in Perkins Cove to his weekend morning moped rides to Congdon Donuts in Wells Maine, he was always up for making his kids and grandchildren happy.

Jack enjoyed town politics and was very active in campaigning for his favorite candidates while living in Chelmsford. He always went above and beyond what was expected in support of his candidates and enjoyed making a difference. He was a member of The Republican Town Committee and the Chelmsford Roundtable. He enjoyed his life in Chelmsford and raised a wonderful family there.

In addition to his wife, Peg, survivors include his children, Susan F. Smith and her husband, Brian of Duxbury, MA, Jacqueline F. Rich and her husband, James of Manchester by the Sea, MA, Thomas S. Fudge and his wife, Dominique of Valley Glen, CA, Scott P. Fudge and his husband, Paul Carragher of Greenland, NH, Sarah C. Royce and her husband Charles Royce of Cary, North Carolina; 9 grandchildren, Jacqueline Smith, Colin Smith, Paige Smith, Lily Smith, Sarah Canseco, Jenny Apjohn, James Rich, III, Maggie Royce and Gavin Royce; 2 great grandchildren, Max and Sebastian Canseco; his siblings and their spouses, Edward and Janice Fudge of Danvers, MA, George and Anne Fudge of Streamwood, IL, Barbara and Larry DeMatteo of Deltona, FL, Robert Fudge of Delray Beach, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Steve Gagliardi of Oakland, ME. He was the brother of the late William Fudge.

Visitation calling hours will be held on Saturday February 4, 2017 in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD from 11 AM until 1 PM.
