Obituary for James H. "Jim" McWhorter
James H. McWhorter, 93, a resident of North Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Monday February 13, 2017 after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Anna F. (Amyouny) McWhorter of North Chelmsford who survives him.
Born in Seaton, Missouri, he was a son of Marlin McWhorter and Gertrude (Williams)(McWhorter) Murphy.
Jim was enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was employed for many years as a maintenance mechanic for Polaroid.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his son James E. McWhorter and his wife, Joanne of Haverhill; his grandchildren, Sean McWhorter and his wife, Kaitlyn of Haverhill and Bryan McWhorter of Haverhill; 2 great granddaughters, Jade Elaine and Saige Elyse McWhorter; and a brother and sister-in-law, James and Terri Amyouny of MA.
He was the father of the late Susan Dean and father-in-law to the late Fred Dean.
Visitation will be held in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Sunday February 19, 2017 from 1 until 3 PM. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday morning at 11 o'clock in Journey Church on the Common (formerly Central Baptist Church), 9 Academy Street, Chelmsford. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment with military honors will follow in the Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
