Fran served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was honorably discharged. Fran went on to pursue higher education at the Berklee School of Music, in Boston.

He was employed for many years as an engineer's aide by RCA and later GE. While at RCA, he assisted engineers working on moon missions through NASA. He was very proud of his family’s Swiss heritage and was an active member of the Swiss Society of Boston.

Fran was a talented musician, having played the piano for most of his life, and was a band member of The Larry Queen Orchestra that was comprised of his dear brother Bernie and friends. He was a good, kind man who loved his family and laughed easily. He will be missed dearly.
