John Joseph Fontes, a longtime resident of Chelmsford passed away unexpectedly at his home. He was fifty nine years old.

John was a longtime resident of Chelmsford, a led a very simple life. He enjoyed the small things and was a hard worker. He was employed in his younger years in various automotive parts stores in the area. In more recent years, John worked as an auto mechanic. He was truly passionate about cars and collected all kinds of auto memorabilia. John's pride and joy was his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle that he proudly had restored himself.

John is survived by his loving mother, Mary Dobson of Lowell along with his cousins, Tim Fontes of Merrimack, NH, Tony Fontes of Florida, Tracy Fontes of Nashua, NH, Carol Fontes of Gloucester and Danny and Little Ray Fontes. John also leaves an uncle, Raymond Fontes and his wife Doris of Indiana and also an aunt Hannah Fontes of North Carolina.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, February 21st from 4:00-7:00pm in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street CHELMSFORD. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at 11:30am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell.
