Obituary for Lillian "Lee" Judge

Lillian T. "Lee" Judge, a longtime resident of Chelmsford and Barnstable Village, passed away peacefully at the Lowell General Hospital on Saturday February 18th at the age of ninety-one. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. Judge who passed away in 1976.

Lee was born in Lowell on June 9, 1925 the daughter of the late William and Anna (Sheehy) Sheehy. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lowell High in the class of 1943. After graduation, Lee moved to Washington D.C. to work at the Pentagon. She was employed by the Military Intelligence Division as an Crytographic Operator decoding and deciphering enemy communications during World War II. She returned to Lowell in 1946 to be married to her high school sweetheart. After raising her family, Lee returned to work at the Town Clerk's office in Chelmsford for a few years before retiring in 1987 to spend more time at the home on Cape Cod that she loved.

Lee was an active member of St. Mary Church, the Old Garrison House in Chelmsford, and the Middlesex Women's Club of Lowell where she served on the Board of Directors.

Lee is lovingly survived by her three children, Carolee (Judge) Hill of Chelmsford, John J. Judge and his wife Katherine of Sandwich and Stephen E. Judge and his wife Carol of Providence, RI. She was the loving grandmother of Sheri (Hill) Flavell, Stephen Hill, Kerri Judge, Brian Judge, and Mackensie Judge. She was also the very proud great-grandmother of Tommy, Katie, Shane, Samuel and Beau.

Sadly, in addition to her husband, Lee was predeceased by her two sisters, Mary White and Margaret Crowley.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, February 23rd from 9:30-11:30am at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford.

A funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 noon at St. Mary Church, 25 North Road Chelmsford.

Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lee's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
