Obituary for Marie A. "Sis" Paquette (Horgan)

Marie A. "Sis" Paquette, 93, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully at Lowell General Hospital on Wednesday March 1, 2017. She was the wife of the late Thomas L. Paquette who predeceased her in 2001.

Born in Medfield, MA on November 5, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Marie (Drum) Horgan.

Growing up in Medfield, Marie was raised on a beautiful farm where she worked closely with her father and developed a great love of horses. Sis was a very hard worker. She was employed by the United States Census Bureau as an Interviewer for 30 years and retired at age 80. And with hard work, comes play and Sis had a true passion to play golf. She was a proud member of Nabnasset Lake Country Club. She had the distinct honor of becoming the first female to serve on the board of governors at the club. "Life of the Party" was a term associated with Sis as she was extremely social and loved having fun. The beach was a place that Marie found enjoyment, especially Nantasket Beach. A legacy of kindness and helpfulness is what Sis will leave behind. If someone needed help, she would always find a way to do just that. Sis was a parishioner at both St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford and St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford.

Survivors include her loving son and daughter in law, Michael and Debra Paquette of Upton; her cherished granddaughter, Ashley Paquette of Haverhill; her sisters-in-law Margaret Horgan of Burlington and Alba Paquette of Walpole; many nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Eileen Anderson of Westford; and many dear friends at Nab. She was the sister of the late John and Francis Horgan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday March 5, 2017 from 2 until 5 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11 AM in St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, CHELMSFORD.KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, WESTFORD.
