Obituary for Charles F Philbrook

Charles F. Philbrook, of Woodstock, NH, formerly of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3rd. He was 71 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Joanne (Harvey) Philbrook to whom he was married for 49 years at the time of her passing in 2015.

Charlie was born in Lowell, son of the late Forrest and Evelyn (Sturtevant) Philbrook. He grew up in Chelmsford and attended Chelmsford High School. It was there that he met his beloved wife, Joanne. They were married in 1966 and settled in Chelmsford to raise their family. The Philbrooks moved to Lincoln, NH and then Woodstock where for over thirty years they owned and operated the Lincoln Motel and Charlie's Gun and Sport which was his passion. A true outdoorsman, Charlie took many hunting and fishing trips throughout New England but particularly enjoyed his birthday trips to North Pond in Maine. Charlie always enjoyed time spent on his motorcycle. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything. Charlie and Joanne enjoyed many trips in their RV with their children and grandchildren, He will be remembered as a social, easy going man who was a true family man.

Charlie is survived by his three children, Amy Hebert of Woodstock, NH, Kathleen Philbrook and her husband Carl Manfrates of Washington, NH and Tracy Beaumier of Lincoln, NH. He was the beloved grandfather of Amanda Meyer and her husband Gabe, Justin Perkins and his girlfriend Cara Valley, Sara Hebert, Alyssa Philbrook-Beaumier and Ryan Beaumier. He was the loving brother of Judith Fennell and her husband Henry, David Philbrook and Joanne Skillings and her husband Roger.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, March 8th from 4:00-7:00pm in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Interment will be at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
