Obituary for Irene A. Aubert

It is with great sadness that the family of Irene A. (Genest) Aubert of Chelmsford announces her death on March 24, 2017.

Irene was born in Lowell, MA on December 13, 1924 and graduated from Lowell High School as a member of the National Honor Society. She worked at Fort Devens during World War II before moving to Texas to join her husband Harvey, who was assigned there on a Naval mine sweeper. After returning to MA, she and her husband settled in Chelmsford where she resided for sixty years until her death. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Women’s Sodality, The South Chelmsford Village Improvement Association, the Chelmsford Parent Teacher Association and an active volunteer with the Chambers Ballet Company. Irene was an avid reader and loved to knit and crochet. She especially enjoyed traveling and gardening, and in 92 years, she never wavered from her deep Roman Catholic faith.

Irene was the loving wife to the late Harvey A. Aubert, cherished sister of Paul Genest of Holiday, Florida, devoted mother of Kenneth S. Aubert of Boston, Maurice L. Aubert and his wife Deborah of East Hampstead, NH, and Paulette A. Farmer and her husband Peter of Acton. Irene was the loving grandmother to Stephanie Aubert of Everett, WA, Ryan Aubert of Manchester, NH, Elisabeth Farmer of Brookline, Kathryn Farmer of Acton, and many loving nieces and nephews

A period of visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St, Chelmsford. A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Mary Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
