Obituary for Wallace A. Reid

Wallace A. Reid
Wallace A. Reid, 91, long time Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2017 at the Hunt Community in Nashua, NH. He was the loving husband of Lee D. Reid of Nashua, NH with whom he shared a 68-year love story.

Wallace was born in Medford, MA on February 25, 1926, a son of the late Edward M. and Dorothy D. (Oldrey) Reid. Upon graduating from High School, he enlisted in the US Navy and honorably served his country in WWII. Following his discharge from the Navy, Wallace earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and went on to work for many years as an electrical engineer for MIT in Groton.

Wallace was a real renaissance man. He traveled the world and loved to share adventures with his bride. One such adventure included the purchase of a ski mountain in Ashburnham, which they would operate for several years together. Wallace was a man ahead of his time. Before they were mainstream, he managed to build an electric automobile using the shell of a VW Bug. Wallace was also a talented photographer. He entered several contests and was a member of the Lowell Camera Club for many years. Wallace lived so much in his 91 years. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters; Nancy Meikrantz of Middletown, MD; and Sherrie Armstrong and her husband, Edward of Bedford, NH. He is further survived by 4 grandchildren; Jennifer, Joshua and David Meikrantz and Kristin Fudala and her husband Nick, as well as 1 great-grandchild, Logan Fudala.

Wallace is sadly predeceased by his brothers Kenneth and Roy.
