Obituary for Wallace R. "Wally" Kellegrew

Wallace R. "Wally" Kellegrew
Wallace R. Kellegrew, a resident of Chelmsford, formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23rd. He was ninety years old. He was the beloved husband of Viola May (Giggey) Kellegrew to whom he was married for 36 years.

Wally was born in Cambridge, son of the late Edward and Irene (Dale) Kellegrew. He was a graduate of Medford Vocational High School and upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy where he honorably served his country in World War II. For more than thirty years, Mr. Kellegrew was employed by the New England Telephone Company where he worked as a foreman. Wally worked for a time for Wakefield Savings after his retirement. When he was not working, he enjoyed time spent candlepin bowling and dancing. Winters were spent at his home in Hallandale, FL and many summers on Cape Cod. More than anything, Wally was a people person. He enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with old friends, all of which will miss him dearly.

In addition to his wife Viola, Mr. Kellegrew is survived by his three children, Bob Kellegrew and his wife Susan Dullea of Clinton, Sharon Iula and her husband Frank of Wareham and John Kellegrew and his wife Barbara of Chelmsford. He also leaves four loving grandchildren, Jay, Katie, Travis and Taylor.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, April 27th from 3:00-5:00pm in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street Chelmsford. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 5:00pm.

Interment will be private.
