Obituary for John E McDonough

John E McDonough
CHELMSFORD- John E. "Jack" McDonough, 72, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Friday June 23, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Janice (Smith) McDonough with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage on June 15, 2017.

Born in Lowell on October 19, 1944, he was a son born to the late Raymond and Isabelle (Harmon) McDonough.

Jack was a mechanic at heart having worked in the many aspects of automotive repair. He could always be found in his garage, where he was refurbishing all sorts of machines to pass along in like-new condition to his family, friends and neighbors. You name it, he fixed it and he did it with a smile. Jack spent summers with family and friends on Queen Lake in Phillipston, MA and part of the winters in St. Pete Beach, FL. He was constantly making his grandchildren laugh. He kept them busy and always went out of his way to make sure they were having fun. It was a joy to be close to a man who was always trying to find ways to give to everyone around him. Jack's humor was one- in- a-million and his presence will be missed always.

In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his children and their spouses, Laurel Tousignant and her husband, Daniel of Tyngsborough; Karen Lynch of Dracut; Steven McDonough and his wife, Kristin of Rockwood, ME; six grandchildren, Kristin and Rachel Lynch, Alisyn Tousignant, Abbygail, Thomas and Connor McDonough; two great grandsons, Gavin and Rylan; many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was the brother of the late Richard and Donald McDonough.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation to be held on Tuesday June 27, 2017 from 4 until 7 PM in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford.

A Memorial Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 10 AM.

Interment will be held privately.
