Obituary for Arlene L Flanders (Mace)

Arlene L Flanders (Mace)
Arlene L. (Mace) Flanders, a longtime resident of North Chelmsford, formerly of Woburn, passed away peacefully at the Palm Center in Chelmsford. She was 79 years old. She was the wife of Malcolm Flanders to whom she was married for sixty years.

Arlene was born in Boston, one of seven children born to the late James and Margaret (Woods) Mace. She was raised and educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School. She met her beloved Malcolm through mutual friends and soon after they were married in St. Anthony Church in North Woburn. Together they settled in North Chelmsford and raised their three children. Always the life of the party, Arlene never missed an opportunity to welcome family and friends into her home. Holidays were always a celebrated occasion where Arlene enjoyed cooking and hosting. The Flanders family enjoyed a number of trips to both Vermont to visit family as well as snowmobiling trips to Stratford, New Hampshire which were particularly memorable. More than anything, Arlene cherished her time with family, especially as "Nana" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Malcolm, Arlene is survived by her three children, Denise Newbolt and her husband Kevin of Dripping Springs, Texas, Ted Flanders of Tyngsboro, Brian Flanders of Westford and a cherished daughter-in law, Kathy Flanders of Westford. She was the loving "Nana" of Sean, Shannon, Shelby, Shea, Warren, Mallorie, Leigh Ann, Yvonne and Keith as well as nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Lorraine Lynch of Woburn .

She was also predeceased by two Brothers, Jimmy and Jerry as well as three sisters, Mary, Carol and Kathy.
