Life Story for Thomas Donald Turner

It is with deep sadness that the family of Thomas Donald Turner of Chelmsford, MA, announce his passing. Born to Arthur and Esther Turner in Maple, Iowa on November 30, 1923, he passed on July 29, 2017, peacefully in his sleep.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Turner; his three sons and their wives, Thomas Jr. and Ana of Tyngsboro, Stephen and Sheri of Bridgewater, William and Nancy of Somerville, and three grandchildren, Allison, Christopher, and Daniel.

Mr. Turner served in the Navy during World War II as a radar instructor. After leaving the service in 1946, he completed his degree in Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University. Upon graduation, he went to work for General Electric, where he worked until his retirement in 1987.

A beloved member of the community, Mr. Turner volunteered for many years in Boy Scouts Troop 70 as a Scoutmaster, contributor, and eventual recipient of the prestigious Silver Beaver Award.

He will be dearly missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
