Obituary for Jean Wilson Firth (Bell)

Jean Wilson Firth (Bell)
Jean Wilson (Bell) Firth, 91, passed away after a brief illness. While her family is grieving her loss, they are thankful she lived a long and blessed life.

Jean was born on the ninth of June, nineteen twenty six in Montague, Massachusetts. On that day Nancy and Gilbert Bell welcomed not one but two baby girls and their son Gilbert became a big brother to twin sisters. When Jean and Joan were six years old they and their brother became ill and unfortunately Jean’s twin sister passed away.

In her earlier years the family moved to Rhode Island from Massachusetts where she completed grammar school; however, the family moved back to Massachusetts where she finished her senior year at Chelmsford High School. Jean worked for Bon Marche Department store in Lowell for many years, Firth Farm’s Ice Cream Stand (owned with her husband Clifford and her brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Dorothy Firth) and retired from her and Clifford’s paint store, Firth Paints of Chelmsford.

Jean loved her family and was an avid sports fan of football, baseball and golf. She was a very
creative person and was a first-class cook and baker. She is also fondly remembered for her
collection of “Snow White” and “Tweety Bird” items.

Jean was the wife of the late Clifford E. Firth, sister to the late Joan Bell, Gilbert C. Bell and is
survived by her devoted children, Meredith (Gary) Russell, Nancy (Michael) Decker, Cheryl
(Roger) Norton, Clifford (Loretta) Firth and James (Cecilia) Firth. She is also survived by 16
loving grandchildren, Jessica, Leeann, Melissa, Shawn, Jason, Brianna, Cliff (CJ), Eric, Kerri-ann, Tiffanie, Heather, Kyle, Rebecca, Emilie, Jeremiah and Rachel. Jean was also blessed with 17 Great-grandchildren. She also leaves a dear cousin Mary Bell and many beloved nieces and
nephews.
