Condolence: My apologies for this coming so late. I just did a search on Ernie and was deeply stunned and saddened to to learn that he passed away. I was fortunate to have known Ernie during the 80's during his martial arts studies. He was always very generous with his time and hard working with his studies. It was truly a pleasure and honor to have known him. My heart goes out to Lee and his family. He will truly be missed.

Condolence: We are so sorry for your loss. Dr. Wu was a kind, generous, and wonderful person. My two children were lucky to have him as their pediatrician. Dr. Wu saved my son's life. He was the only one to recognize his brain tumor symptoms (at the age of six) and send us directly to Dr. Scott at Children's Hospital. Dr. Wu was with my family through the 18 months of chemotherapy and beyond. Thanks to him, my son is now 25 years old. I am forever grateful to him. I would often see Dr. Wu at Hannaford's where we would talk for a long time and always end with a bear hug. Dr. Wu was a kind man, doctor, and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Condolence: Dear Lee, We are so, so sorry for your loss, our loss, and everyone's loss with Ernie's passing. He brought so much to every person he came in contact with, always generous with his time, his patience, and immense kindness. Modest and softly spoken as he was, getting to know him and realize the depth there was to his thoughtfulness, and the full width of his life experiences has been a privilege Tarek and I will always be grateful for. Thinking of you lots, Sarah

The manner in which he spoke of his wife was always so tender & loving. I missed him when he stopped training and now I will miss him forever. Dear Ernie, Your sweet kind self touched me in a way that I hope you realize.

Condolence: Our hears are very sad to read this news. All four of our children were fortunate to have Dr. Wu as their pediatrician until he retired while we were blessed to have him as their pediatrician. He was the best and he had a kind heart and a genuineness about him that you rarely find. He was especially great with us and our child with disabilities. He was not only great with his patients but with their parents as well - that has never been forgotten. We were fortunate to bump into him in Chelmsford a couple of times after he left his practice. I cried when he told me in his office that he was retiring from his practice and I am crying now reading about the loss of this gentile soul. God bless you Dr. Wu and thank you.

Condolence: Dear Lee I was so sad to learn, just today, that Ernie had passed away. I have very fond memories of him having practiced right next door to Chelmsford Pediatrics for so many years. He was such a gentle soul and, no doubt, he will be sorely missed. I remember going upstairs in the office to sit and chat in the office and got a real laugh when I saw Ernie’s desk all messed up and piled high with medical journals. The funny thing was that if I asked him to site an article which I might have been interested in, he always knew exactly which journal it was in and where among the pile he could find it. I often joked with him about that because my own desk was the exact opposite. I use to tell him that you could always tell the smart people from the not so smart people based upon how messy their desks were. Ernie was obviously one of the smart ones by my measure. So many years have passed. Ann and I want to wish you our deepest condolences and wish you comfort at this very difficult time. Barry

Condolence: On my first shift in the ER at LGH in 1983, I met and was befriended by Ernie. He remained my friends for all the years, even after we both experienced changes in our careers. He was the ideal pediatrician, knowledgeable, compassionate and principled. Your patients and your peers mourn your death but celebrate your life.

Condolence: My entire family is heartbroken to hear this sad news. Dr Wu took such excellent care of all of my children at Chelmsford Pediatrics. I also worked with him at Saints Memorial Medical center where he took such good care of all those newborns. He was a breath of fresh air, with the most beautiful calm voice. I smile now thinking of him. This world has one less beautiful soul. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family.

Condolence: I am shocked and so very sorry for the loss of this wonderful man. I worked with Dr Wu for many years at St Joseph's hospital in Lowell. He was a kind and gentle soul and so very gifted ... took care of each child as if his own. My prayers for Mrs Wu, his family and friends and I am sure you all know that the difference he made in so many lives ( including mine and my own children, as his patients) is his legacy. God Bless him always ... Ann
