Condolence: Dearest Barbie and family, I am so saddened to have just learned of your (and my) loss. I have always, over these past 64 years, considered Walt to be one of my best friends and am so sad to learn of his leaving us. I can't begin to tell you about the "so many" happy memories that are flooding through my mind. I remember those many days, from daybreak till dusk, when we played out in the neighborhood with our Mayflower Road gang (Walt, Jimmy Fitz, & myself, later to be joined by Meeksie, Joe Simas, Paul D., Mike Maher,etc.). We enjoyed so many good times together, from playing baseball to building tree-huts to digging tunnel forts, to flipping baseball cards etc. Walt was looked upon as the gentle giant, one of the kindest, most gentle, loyal, caring and giving friends any of us could hope to have. We had so much fun together from sleeping out in tents under the ole oak tree, to taking our secret late night rides in the "Black Marshmallow". We were inseparable doing so many fun "kid" things together, like the neighborhood football team we formed to play other teams around town, like the central square YMCA team, etc. I remember spending many early school-day mornings with Walt's mom Phyllis, as it was my job to go over and wake Walt up each morning in time for school. We usually ended up running out the door and up the street but also usually got to school on time each day. I remember when Ann and I used to go visit with Barbie, Walt and Bonnie at their home in the woods off of route 2 in Concord. I fondly remember when we contracted with Walt to build a large addition onto our home, because I got to see him more often and he did a great job too. I fondly recall going with my Ann, to visit with Barbie and Walt at their home in Chelmsford or to go out to that really nice restaurant which we all so enjoyed. Sorry for going on about this flood of stories but so many happy times which we shared and I'm sure you'll agree that his wry smile and hearty laughs will be missed by all. Walt was indeed a most wonderful person, who will be sorely missed. I know how Walt dearly loved Barbie and all of his kids and I only hope that each of you are able, as I am, to fondly recall & happily reflect on so many of those happy times together.
My dearest friend "Waldo", may you rest in peace until we are together again.
Love ya guy, Jimmy Murphy

Condolence: I'm so very sorry to hear of Walt's passing. He was "one of the guys" when we were growing up in Woburn. As "the other Fitzy" in the neighborhood, He was very well liked and was always cheerful and kind to everyone. I lost track of him as my work took me all over the country, but I tried to catch up with him when he was in real estate in Concord. I always just missed him at his office.

It was great to see that he had a large family, and I know they are better for His having been their Dad.

Condolence: Fitzy,
So now here we all are. Rifling through our own memories we have of you. For the hope it will bring you back, for the chance to say hello one more time and to see that giant smile one more time. So many chapters so many pages to your life. I had the honor of knowing you most of mine. You have given each and everyone of us our own special book. I would like to thank you for that gift.
I'm going to take my time reading this one though, I'm not ready to say goodbye.
Love, Shana

Condolence: Walt was great guy and a true professional. It was always a pleasure to assist him with any real estate/lockbox concerns or issues. My thoughts are with Walt's family and friends at this sad time.

Condolence: It is with a very heavy heart that I type this condolence. Walt was a great man, wonderful real estate agent and colleague. He always put a huge smile on my face when he entered a room. He always made a point to come up to me a business function to ask how my business was doing and tell me a funny story. Walt was full of wisdom and advice for us not as seasoned Realtors. He will be very missed.
