Obituary for Margaret F. "Peggy" Brown (Siekman)

Margaret F. "Peggy" (Siekman) Brown, 83, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in North Chelmsford. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph E. Brown who died in 1988.

She was born in Arlington on October 10, 1933 and was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Gertrude L. (McMaster) Siekman.

Peggy was a natural caregiver. Over the years, she cared for children and provided daycare both inside her home and out. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed music and dancing, reading, gardening, and helping others. Later in life she enjoyed traveling. Her strong-willed nature allowed her to face many of life's challenges. She found peace in church and was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford.

Peggy is survived by her daughters; Jeannette Lynah and her husband Gary of Westford, Sandra Lawson and her husband Douglas of Westford, Nancy Pedersen of Chelmsford, and Joanne Hayes and her husband Patrick of Chelmsford and eight grandchildren; Andy, David and Katie Lawson, Chris, Sarah and Rachel Pedersen, and Ryan and Sean Hayes. She also leaves her siblings; Charles Siekman of ME, Dorothy Cormier of MA, Robert Siekman and his wife Joan of CO, Elizabeth MacDonald and her husband Daniel of VT, and Barbara Patterson and her husband William of CO. Peggy was predeceased by her son Kenneth Brown, son-in-law Randy Pedersen, brother William Siekman and sister-in-law Elsie Barry.


Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford.

Interment immediately following in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. For those who desire memorial donations may be made in Peggy's name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Dr., Natick, MA 01760.
