Charles Robert  Ott
Charles Robert Ott, a longtime resident of Groton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2017 with his family by his side. He was eighty-four years of age. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Marr) Ott to whom he was married sixty-two years.

Charles was born in Bellingham, Washington on July 31, 1933, to the late Charles Lynton Ott and Esther Viola (Lundin) Ott.

Charles graduated with his BS, Masters, and PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, and went on to teach Civil Engineering at Clarkson College in Potsdam, NY and the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, MA. Charles attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1959. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, birding, and nature. He loved and enjoyed his large family, and was an enthusiastic supporter at his grandchildren’s sporting events.

In addition to his wife, Ann, Charles is lovingly survived by his children, Charles Ott and his wife Ol Ny, Karin Bischoff and her husband Karl, Janie Ginsburg and her husband Larry, Amy Kirk and her husband Jay, and Peter Ott and his wife Charlotte. Charles was the loving grandfather of Emilie, Anna, Stephen, Daniel, Suki, Jesse, Eli, Lila, Jennifer, Matthew, Lauren, Jeffrey, Erica, and Grace. He was the great-grandfather of Karina and Ezra. Sadly, Charles was predeceased by his sister, the late Janet Maddock of Washington State.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 14th at 10:00am at the Eliot Presbyterian Church, 273 Summer Street Lowell, MA 01852.

There are no visiting hours.
