Amelia A. Hynes Obituary (1929 - 2015)

CHELMSFORD Amelia A. (Sousa) Hynes, 85, a long-time resident of Chelmsford, died on August 24, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late William P. Hynes who died in 2003. She was born on December 20, 1929 in Lowell, the daughter of the late Ignacio and Mary (Piedade) Sousa. Amelia was a graduate of Lowell High School and graduated at the top of her class of which she was very proud. After graduation, she worked as an administrative assistant and it was during her time working at Hanscom Field that she met her husband, Bill Hynes. Mrs. Hynes loved the arts and was also active in the Chelmsford Swim and Tennis Club. She is survived by her son, Mark J. Andreoli of Naples, Italy, as well as her siblings; Walter Sousa, Mary Millen, and Catherine Underwood. She was predeceased by her siblings; Joseph L. Sousa, Dalia DiGennaro, John Sousa, and Dolores Kronberg. At the request of the family there will be no calling hours and services will be private.
