Annalee Ruth Chambless Obituary (1931 - 2018)

Annalee Ruth Chambless, 86, a longtime resident of Chelmsford and a former Grafton resident, passed away peacefully on Friday February 9, 2018, following a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Bertram Albert Chambless. Born in Parsons, Kansas on June 28, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Elmer D. Gaddis and Alice R. (Tillman)(Gaddis) Dubois. Annalee was raised in Kansas. She was educated at the Bethany School of Nursing in Kansas City, KS where she earned a degree as a registered nurse. After her marriage to her husband in 1952 she began a career in Nursing all over the country as she relocated with her husband's job. Annalee was an avid reader and nature lover. She enjoyed crafting and gardening and was a member of the Grafton Garden Club. Classical and New Age Music brought her much joy. Her love of the Grafton community brought her to become a member of the Grafton Newcomers Club. Annalee grew up in a community surrounded by land so it was no surprise that when she discovered the coast it became a great love in her life. Her adoration for the ocean led her to take many adventures aboard Windjammer cruises off the coast of Maine. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Annalee is survived by her children, Craig Chambless of San Diego, CA, Andrew Chambless and his fiance, Adele Da Costa of Providence, RI, Ronald Chambless and his wife, Cindy of Oxford, MA, Rochelle Chambless and her husband, Scott McLeod of Chelmsford; five grandchildren, Lori and Wyndi Chambless of CA, Lynnel of Ashland, MA, Brian of Woodstock, CT and David of Oxford, MA; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob and Natalie of Ashland and Eva of Woodstock, CT; two brothers, Aubrey Gaddis and his wife, Joann of Fayetteville, NC, Thomas Gaddis of San Diego; a beloved niece, Carol-Lynne Meissner of Austin, TX; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was the grandmother of the late Daniel Chambless and sister of the late Marene Gaddis. Funeral Services will be held Friday February 16, 2018 at the First Church Unitarian, 19 Foster Street, Littleton MA at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
