Anne Marie Hamilton Obituary (1938 - 2014)

Anne Marie (Fitzgerald) Hamilton, 75, a resident of Chelmsford, Massachusetts and Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2014 with her husband and three children by her side. Anne, daughter of Joseph and Florence (Duncan) Fitzgerald of Watertown, Massachusetts was born and raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Boston Teachers College. Anne enjoyed being a homemaker for many years, as well as a teacher and substitute in the Chelmsford Public Schools. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 53 years, Robert, and their three children: son Gregory Hamilton and his wife Susan of Chelmsford; daughter Sandra Freiter and her husband Gregory of Dunstable; and son Daniel Hamilton and his wife Adrienne of Foxboro. Nana Hams is also loved by her ten grandchildren: Ryan, Meaghan, Erin, Nicholas, Justin, Samantha, Lauren, Nicole, Kevin and Mary. Anne is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Swanson and her husband Gary of Stow; and her sisters-in-law Phyllis Fitzgerald of Sebago, Maine; Marie Fitzgerald of Framingham; Barbara Beaudoin and her husband Edward of Chelmsford; and Diane Gordon and her husband Douglas of Clermont, Florida. She was preceded in death by her dearly beloved brothers Joseph and Richard Fitzgerald. A much-loved aunt, she will be missed by her 16 nieces and nephews. Anne enjoyed traveling and cruising with her husband and spending time on Lake Winnipesaukee with her family. A highlight of their 50th wedding anniversary celebration was a Windjammer Cruise off the coast of Maine with Robert, their three children and all their grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 o'clock at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 115 Middlesex St., North Chelmsford. Interment in West Chelmsford Cemetery.
