Catherine 'Cappy' A. Greene Obituary (1927 - 2014)

CHELMSFORD Catherine Agnes (Seifert) Cappy Greene, RN, 86, a resident of Chelmsford, died peacefully Wednesday morning, March 12, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles R. Greene who passed away in 1998. Cappy was born in Nashua, NH on October 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Waldo and Hazel (Donovan) Seifert. She received her early education in the Pelham schools and was a graduate of Nashua High School and graduated as a registered nurse from the Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in Boston where she was a member of the Nurses Alumni Association. Cappy lived most of her adult life in Lowell, and worked as a private duty nurse. She was an avid swimmer and spent several weeks every summer at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, and loved animals, especially her four legged grandchildren. Cappy is survived by her two daughters, Gayle Greene-Aguirre and her husband Gilbert Aguirre of McHenry, MS and Carolyn Greene and her husband David Hathaway of Underhill Center, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130. It being her wish, there will be no visitation. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the Chapel in Lowell Cemetery, 77 Knapp Ave. Lowell, MA. Internment in Lowell Cemetery. A small reception will be held following the service at the Radisson in Chelmsford, 10 Independence Drive.
