Catherine F. 'Kay' Shepherd

NEWCASTLE, MAINE Catherine F. Kay (Fulton)(Collins) Shepherd, 86, recently of Newcastle, ME and former longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014 in Newcastle, ME after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward P. Collins who died on October 14, 1977, and Ernest Shepherd who died on April 14, 2011.

She was born in Lowell on June 16, 1927 and was a daughter of the late John Fulton and Annie (Fraser) Fulton.

Known as Kay to her family and friends, she was employed as a bookkeeper at the Radisson Hotel in Chelmsford for many years until her retirement in 1989. In her spare time Kay was an avid reader and knitter. During her many years in Chelmsford, she attended the Lawrence Street Primitive Methodist Church in Lowell. Most of all, Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time in the company of her loving family.

Kay is survived by a son John Collins of Gilford, NH, a daughter Catherine McKinley and her spouse Theodore McKinley of Nobleboro, ME, and grandsons Justin Collins and Jeffrey Collins of Chelmsford. She is also survived by her brother Robert Fulton of Sioux Falls, SD.

Visiting hours on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:30 am at the Funeral Home.

Interment in Edson Cemetery, Lowell.
